Company History
Genesis Printing Company came about after working in the industry for 12 plus years. During that time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. After discussing starting a business with my wife, we decided to take on a new venture and gathered our resources to get going.
Genesis Printing Company opened for business in 1995 as a commercial printer. As founders, myself Goldman Jackson Jr. and my wife Andrea Jackson, not to mention newly birth twin girls, Ashlee and Brea, we started our journey. Our families gave us tremendous support helping with the twins in our own in house daycare while we conducted business. Needless to say, starting a new business with twins, no customers, building from the ground up was going to be a huge undertaking. It wasn't going to be easy but having a vision and faith in God everything is possible.
Which leads me to how the name of the business was created. After discussing it with my wife and some family members out of nowhere it came clear to me (Genesis) biblically based means the beginning, Genesis Printing Company was formed. During this time our motto was "Quality First Every Time" and later after becoming Incorporated, it was changed to Genesis Printing Co, Inc., with a new motto "We Put Your Ideas In Ink".
In the next two years 1996 and 1997, hitting the ground running; literally, wearing out three pairs of dress shoes, seeking out customers, attending business development meetings and workshops in order to increase our clientele. We then joined Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Regional Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. As a member, it created other avenues to market Genesis Printing Co, Inc.
In the year of 1997, while attending the Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce /Arkansas Regional Minority Development Council, Inc. banquet, to our surprise, they announced Genesis Printing Co, Inc. as the award winner titled, Outstanding Minority Business Enterprise In Arkansas Established under 5 years for outstanding growth, development and providing excellent customer service.
The remainder of 1997-1999, we met with the U.S. Small Business Administration regarding the 8(A) government contractor's program. After meeting the requirements, we joined the 3-4 year program. In order to graduate, we had to meet certain requirements in performance and attend workshops. We did fulfill our obligations and graduated from the program as a Government Certified Contractor with the U.S. Government Printing Office, and acquired other certifications.
Later in the year of 1999, my wife Andrea was diagnosed with cancer and later passed away from the disease in 2001. It was a gut-wrenching experience having to carry on without her presence. Having to raise our twin girls at the age of 6 without their mother was going to be a life altering experience but with faith in God and family support, I knew once again all things were possible.
A few years later in 2008, we were hit hard with the economy crashing. We experienced lost in clients and revenue. During the recovery period, I was able to restructure the business and it's currently located at 140 Municipal Drive Jacksonville, AR 72076.
Back to our twins, they both went on to be college graduates in May of 2019. Ashlee obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from UAMS and Brea a Bachelor of Science degree from UCA. Also, they both are working in their fields of study with plans on continuing their education. They have made me one proud dad for their hard work and focus to achieve their accomplishments.
